STAR’s Annual Secret Santa appeal brings the entire community together to spread joy and bring smiles to the faces of those who need it most. It is a cherished tradition where we rally support to provide gifts and essentials to the elderly who would spend the festive season alone.
Since it’s launch in 2019, the program has delivered Christmas hampers to 4292 socially isolated seniors!

Secret Santa 2024
A huge thank you for your Christmas spirit with Secret Santa for Seniors 2024.
Donating gifts, wrapping gifts, creating hampers, and delivering hampers to seniors who are on their own this Christmas, could not happen without your support.
Across Darling Downs, Gold Coast, Redlands, Ipswich and Logan, 1,017 hampers were delivered to seniors who spent Christmas on their own.
We have also been able to support other community groups with additional 2,330 gifts/toiletries and 2,400 food items.
Volunteers who delivered hampers came back with so many heartfelt stories from recipients of surprise, tears of joy and happiness that someone had thought of them.
We have received many, many, many emotional calls and messages from recipients. These are just a few:
- Carol: “I have not been able to afford coffee for so long. I am going to sit down with a coffee and a mince pie.”
- Mark: “You have made my Christmas. I recently lost my wife am feeling the loneliness.”
- Betty: “It is lovely and such a pleasant surprise.". “
- Helen: “My warm appreciation for this wonderful Christmas hamper. Sincerely, thank you.”
- Fay: “I truly appreciated the lovely hamper. Thank you.”
- Sandra: While wiping away tears, “Thank you.”
- Lyn: Through tears of joy, “I can’t say how grateful I am that someone has thought of me.”
- Sheila: “I am absolutely thrilled. Thank you, Thank you.”
