Purpose of Position The Volunteer VR Recruitment Support will assist the STAR Volunteer Coordinator in running information sessions. These could include presentations to groups of people and manning an information stand at events or shopping centres.
Key Responsibilities
Duties will vary. Tasks may include:
• Talking to people about volunteering opportunities
• Helping set up and run information stands
• Working with the Volunteer Coordinator, ensure the information being presented is current
• Helping to distribute information pamphlets to local community centres

- be able to volunteer at least one day per month
- strong communication and customer service skills
- basic computer skills
- able to recognise and respect the dignity, privacy, spiritual and cultural needs of clients
- have a caring, compassionate nature
- able to participate in training
- be over 18 years of age
STAR believes volunteering shouldn't leave you out of pocket. STAR reimburses volunteers for daily out-of-pocket expenses—$15 for ½ day (4 hours) or $30 for a full day (7-8 hrs). This is a non-taxable reimbursement. Successful volunteers will also have (or be prepared to have) a current Flu vaccination.
