What is the Support at Home Program?
The Support at Home program is a reformed in-home aged care model designed to help older Australians live independently at home for longer.
It replaces:
- Home Care Packages (HCP) and Short-Term Restorative Care(STRC) from July 2025
- Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) no earlier than July 2027.
What services are included?
Older people will receive services based on assessed needs and budget. Support at Home will have 8 ongoing service classifications, each with a budget for you to access services. You can adjust services with your provider as your needs change.
Some of the categories include:
Clinical care: Nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy
Independence support: Showering, dressing, medication help, transport
Everyday living: Cleaning, gardening, shopping, meals
